Minutes for UCL Proton Calorimetry Meeting, 27th September 2017 (D17, Physics & Astronomy, UCL)

Present

Simon Jolly, Laurent Kelleter, Anastasia Basharina-Freshville, Jordan Silverman, Matthieu Hentz

ABF:

  • Detector simulations now working:
    • Ported from SLC5 to SL6 (Geant4.10.2).
    • Bragg curve plot inside detector fixed.
    • Can read in output files from MH's Clatterbridge simulations.
  • Have heard back from Hamamatsu regarding wiring for PMT bases.

RS

  • Still working with Hamamatsu to provide PMT for single module:
    • Supply last dynode stages in PMT from 2 HV PSUs.
    • Concern over no limiting resistor between HV and dynode...

MH

  • Welcome back!
  • Courses start next week: will add in some Medical Physics courses.
  • Will look into rerunning Clatterbridge simulations to provide input for Anastasia:
  • Split beamline into 3 sections:
    • Up to 1st collimator (doughnut).
    • Between doughnut and stopper.
    • After stopper.

LK:

  • Transfer talk almost finished: ready for inspection...

JS:

  • Updated and corrected all Geant4 tutorials.
  • SJ to create a page for Eclipse tutorials.
  • Will take over from Matthieu running Clatterbridge simulations...
