Research... The main area of interest is network performance on IP technology, and therefore all the IP QoS architectures to implement better network preformance for the new services. I started my Doctorate with an approach for understanding the internet traffic and the models to represent such traffic like the Pareto distributions and in general the "Power Tail" distributions. Using a network simulator like ns-2, it is possible to inject this kind of traffic in a Class Based Queues node to watch the behaviour of such queues, and checking that in general the performance is worst than in the case of having a well behaved traffic.
