There is very little literature on the shape variant iron oxide nanoparticles, how the shape effect the cellular up take
is still largely unknown. Therefore, it is a challenge to
synthesise iron oxide nanoparticles with different
shapes, as magnetite is approved to use for clinical purposes. |

Nanoparticles will be
synthesised using a chemical methods well established in Prof ThanhÕs lab |
What |
Student will
learn to synthesise ion oxide nanoparticles and characatersise them with TEM,
XRD, SQUID, and elemetal analysis and biofunctionalise them with biomolecules
and study the effect for cellular uptake conventionally or using
magneto-transfection devices |
