Back to my MINOS
Muons and Pions fitted with a Gaussian and Gamma functions respectively. This is using data directly from GEANT.
The pion maximum is at plane 10.01
The muon maximum is at plane 52.91
Close up showing overlap.
As above using new GEANT code (supplied by Ruben) which simulates the real detector better. This takes into account Birk's scintillator saturation, PMT response, 1% smearing of particle momentum and green ( double exp 1,6m ) and clear ( 11m ) attenuation.
The muon and pion peaks appear to be separated better.
Muon dE/dPlane from Monte Carlo for output from Clear fibres. Normalized to the first plane hit.
dE/dPlane from Green fibres.
