  I was able to demonstrate my initiative and ability to learn quickly by learning and using industry standard applications in a commercial environment.
  Responsibilities: Designing, amending and validating CAD designs of power transformers used in industry.

Extra-Curricular Activities
 

2000-2001

Japanese Language Classes, UCL Language Centre, London
  I have recently started Japanese lessons in university because of personal interest, and the potential of broadening of my future career prospects. I particularly enjoy the challenge of learning another language and culture.

Treasurer - Cultural Carnival, UCL Union, London
  Cultural Carnival is a week of events with the aim of increasing cultural awareness
  Responsibilities: I was involved in the proposition and execution of major sponsorship deals, one of which is a large investment bank. I also managed general finance issues such as budgeting events and societies.

President - Association of British And Chinese University Students, UCL Union
  ABACUS is a cultural society that aims to unify and aid Anglo-Sino relations.
  Responsibilities: As president, I was directly involved in everything from marketing the society, liasing with external companies and organisations, organising events, collaborating with committee, and promoting teamwork, enthusiasm and focus.


Skills
 
 
Analytical and Numerical

Studying Physics with Management options has enhanced my analytical, numerical and problem solving skills by applying theory into practise. It has also increased my enjoyment of resolving complex situations and finding solutions to difficult problems through personal initiative and team effort.
 
·
I am currently undertaking a final year solo project at university that requires in-depth understanding of both statistical and physical processes, self-motivation, organisation, thorough research, and the design and creation of a computer simulated model.
 
 
Team Work
·
I was appointed the Project Leader in a third year university group project on an important scientif breakthrough. My team won the best group prize for excellence.
 
·
Working as a team in ABACUS and Cultural Carnival has allowed me to play both a leading and a supportive role on matters such as project planning and organisation.
 
·
Through these roles, I have obtained great insight into the responsibility of managing people and resource preparing and coordinating events, and maintaining team spirit.
 
 
Communication
·
As part of my degree, I studied courses in Science Communication. I completed a major thesis on quantum computation, and have experience in delivering presentations on group and individual project assignments to large and small audiences.

Working in project teams for my degree as well as my involvement in UCL Union has improved my interpersonal and communications skills to articulate other people’s views, my own personal opinions and explaining complicated solutions.

Languages: English (Fluent), Cantonese (Intermediate) and Japanese (Basic)
 
Motivation and Initiative
·
My personal interest in Financial Markets and Businesses led me to choose to study Management options in my final year at UCL: Project Management (accredited by the Association of Project Managers), Business in a Competitive Environment and Corporate Finance.
