---++ Part 1: running alpgen with agile & rivet

First, some setups. Grab the rivet bootstrap script:

cd /scratch/rivet/<br />wget http://svn.hepforge.org/rivet/bootstrap/rivet-bootstrap<br />chmod +x rivet-bootstrap

Then:

./rivet-bootstrap

Now, probably need to install gsl and a recent python:

<a target="_blank" href="http://www.python.org/ftp/python/2.6.6/Python-2.6.6.tgz" title="Python 2.6.6">http://www.python.org/ftp/python/2.6.6/Python-2.6.6.tgz</a>

Download to the rivet "downoads" directory, unpack to the build directory. Configure with:

./configure --prefix=`pwd`/../local --exec-prefix=`pwd`/../local

make

make install

Then apply some patches:

patch -i XXX.patch

1) [[%ATTACHURL%/HepMC.patch][HepMC.patch]]

2)

./rivet-bootstrap --install-boost

./rivet-bootstrap --install-agile
