The Fundamental Particles

The Standard Model can be described in terms of the interactions of a few fundamental particles. These particles are separated into two distinct groups, the ``matter'' particles called fermions, and the ``force-carrying'' particles called bosons. The two groups of particles differ in their intrinsic angular momentum. The fermions have half-integer spin and the bosons have integer spin1.1. A description of the two types of particles is given below.
