JRA4 phone conference Attendees: Robert; Jean-Paul Gautier; Dante: Lokik, Anand, Toby, Rob, Nicolas Simar; Javier, Paul (me), Pete Clarke; Mark Leese Agenda: 1.1 organisation issues ==== UCL Situation: Advertisments out. Deadline is mid-april. Can hope for people by mid May. Jean-Paul: CNRS: Looking to have a new position by first of May. 1.2 Review of team. 1.3: Training: Just have in mind that we wil have to report to NA2 what training we will need. NA2 are responsible for training among other things. We request some and they provide it. 1.4 How often do we need these calls? Stick with one every two weeks for now. Also meeting in person: Maybe once every thre or four monthings. There seems to be agreement. Jean Paul can do it in Paris. Trouble with London is hotels. 2.1 This is the second day of the project. Have we missed anything in the tasks? It is now important that nothing is missing from the exction ln So the tasks start with: Activity 1.1: Look at all the standards already written. Split of work: Little from UCL more from Dante and DFN. Dante and DFN try to look at the standards that already exist. Task 1.2: Q: by operations what is meant? It's operations in general. This is done in collaboration with SA2. For end users parts (1.2.1), we have UCL and CNRS. For operations CNRS and DFN. Javier says that operations mean Grid operations and not (just) network operations. Operations will be driven by SA2 and what we can actually do. Task 1.3 Nicolas: which interfaces? Javer: all, pretty much. Pete: must keep in mind that it is all very difficult to do anything. Example of use case for middleware: You write down what the users have to do. Then you write down what that really means. Pete reckons that we will not define any bndings to any prdwr. Geant will then define what they can really provide. Then we write the software to interface between that and the user. Pete: if we define a service that provides an interface for MPLS access to a server then we wond't have the manpower toactually reconfigure Juniper routers. Javer: For the task we should understand what is already in existance. For 2.1.2 Andres di Donato will be doing it. But Javier will be the one whoc should be contacted for now. Annd will be the one at CNRS. Aim to have a report on all the existing software for Cork. Last task is #3: IPv6. ==== Cork meeting: Presentation from NA2. One about GN1 & 2 from Nicolas. Something from Mark Leese. Need somone to present 4.1. DFN blokey will do it. Just a few slides (3, say). Javier will present 4.2.1. Someone from CNRS will do 4.2.2. Maybe Sophie.
