Dante's original idea was that you'd just leave parameter names as a text string, and then allow the users to fill in the parameter names.

the use flag needs to be split:

a report flag which means tell me the result or not
a flag for optional or required

nb: you can do "required" and "report" because it means the client doesn't have to maintain any state.
