T11 beam transport simulations with Decay Turtle
Last time I showed
the first attempt to simulate the T11 beamline muon momentum distribution
taking into account pion decay kinematics
and T11 beamline optics using the Decay Turtle program.
An important thing which was missing is that there was
no TOF trigger requirement in those simulations. Intuitively, the TOF
trigger should change the muon momentum spectra significantly.
So I went on and put in a requirement for beam particles to go through
two TOF scinitllator paddles (middle and downstream).
The result for 1 GeV beam is shown below. The top histogram is for the
simulation WITHOUT TOF counters and the bottom histogram
is WITH TOF counters.
Following Jenny's request I have also generated
low-momentum muon spectra
with TOF requirement for momentum values of 0.8 GeV, 0.6 GeV, 0.4 GeV
and 0.2 GeV which are shown below.
