(note here we used 3 screws to fasten the support board onto the cryostat
but this will be bonded in the real setup).

support board with Type II cables with connectors at ends
ready for connection

Type II cables: FRONT cables with connectors have been threaded through the REAR clamp
- at present only 5 can fit between the spacers.
Note that no ferrules are used here and drainwires are not connected.

Type II cables (FRONT) are positioned in the clamp. (6 fit securely)
The profiled section is being screwed down by means of lateral screws.
Note that the 6th cable has to pass outside the spacers.
The trailing drain wires would be folded back or attached elsewhere.

The three grub screws are tightened. These bear on the profiled section
which clamps the cables.

The weight of the cables needs to be supported by some means
whilst the clamp is fitted. It is not easy to line up the 6 cables
exactly. The REAR temporary board could be used over the FRONT cables
to hold them in place(?)

The FRONT PPB1 board with LMTs is screwed onto the support board
Note stiffness of cables
(the 6 LMTs have not been glued to the PPB1 board but are held by the
PPB1 board clamp).

FRONT Type II cables connected up. REAR LMTs hanging from the REAR
PPB1 board

REAR LMTs looped over FRONT Type II cables on the FRONT PPB1 board
showing the need for a clamp to hold REAR LMTs close to the FRONT PPB1.

View of REAR PPB1 showing the 'double decker' clamp -
it is difficult to get the REAR cables into the correct places.
The REAR cables are now connected up.
