ABOUT ATHENA-ATLFAST

Athena-Atlfast is a C++ Object Orientated implementation of a Atlas fast simulation package which runs in the Athena framework. It performs smearing of particles four momentum and has a simple calorimeter from which clusters and jets can be reconstructed. It also performs track finding and smearing

A description of the layout of the Atlfast package is ginen in Organisation of Atlfast Package

A desription of the individual Algorithms in Atlfast and their usage is given in Atlfast Physics

The Atlfast UserGuide gives all the information on how to get started with running Atlfast jobs in CMT

Diagrams and Doxygen documentation is given in Atlfast Documentation

ATHENA-ATLFAST OUTPUT ENTITIES

Athena-Atlfast stores its output in the transient event store using StoreGate. It Outputs the following Objects:

  • Isolated Electrons
  • Isolated Photons
  • Isolated Muons
  • Non-Isolated Muons
  • Cells
  • Clusters
  • Jets
  • Tracks
  • EventHeader

The EventHeader contains global information about the event:

  • Information about all particles (number and momentum)
  • Missing momentum
  • Escaped Momentum (Sum of momentum of invisibles)
  • Number of b, c, and tau-tagged jets
