To Do
MC Simulations
Dose Reconstruction
- If looking to use FRED - need to get installed on Plus1 or over Hypatia cluster for GPU processing capabilities (need training in Hypatia cluster first)
QuARC & QuADProBe Geant4 Simulations
- Get QuARC G4 simulation working with most recent G4 and have PD sized scoring area.
- Start looking at QuADProBe fibre simulation.
Fibres
- Redesign of Heidelberg fibre frontend PCB board to accommodate for only 2 PD arrays instead of 5.
- Source necessary Max10 board, and appropriate firmware (from Heidelberg if made open source) for it and figure put how much needs to be altered. i.e. whether worth buying max10 and exactly replicating or work towards using alternative FPGA?
- Have backup electronics readout for Trento beam test in autumn, i.e. can we borrow any from Heidelberg if we haven't got one replicated in time.
- Find out whether it is possible to use zmod board approach to interface between ADC to FPGA rather than using HSMC as Heidelberg are currently doing.

MC Simulations
Dose Reconstruction
- TOPAS Simulations fully working on cluster and used to reconstruct 3D dose distributions from QuADProBe UCLH Beam Test 2024 for frontiers paper.
- FRED-MC working on old MacBook Air (2020) intel processor and matches TOPAS simulations. Doesn't run on new MacBook Pro as not compatible with apple silicon.
QuARC & QuADProBe Geant4 Simulations
- Saads QuARC G4 simulation working and added scoring onto left and right sides
Fibres
- Had two meetings with Blake Leverington and Julian Horne from Heidelberg on replicating/adapting the design of the frontend readout system of their fibre array monitor.
- Have so far received assembly drawings, technical description booklet, schematics and slides.
- Hamamatsu making S17285-128G digital readout photodiode arrays with samples expected to be ready in September 2025.
