GridPP Network Assessment
This site will outline the sets and findings of specific network measurements between GridPP sites. Details of techniques and goals are here.
In order to assess network performance of UK sites (plus CERN and SLAC), i have developed a tool called GridNM that allows easy addition of tools and hosts for mesh measurements. It is based on an XML framework for describing the tools (commands etc) and the hosts.
It consists of a two tierred system design with the bottom tier collecting and logging results (based in perl) and an upper tier that allows a java web service based SOAP request for data.
A final presentation layer allows the display and analysis of the gathered information. (written in java).
