readvars_grapher

The aim of this program is to read in readvars logs and allow user production of graphs of each user selectedable variable for all the different transfer logs. This should allow easy(ier) comparision of different transfer tests.

This should also alleviate the need to use Excel (which i think is crap!).

Three phases is envisaged for development;

Phase 1	Create tabular output of user selectable variables and files.
Phase 2	Create/implement graphic module to display variables automatically.
Phase 3	Interface with cgi scripts to display graphs on webpages.

Requirements

For phase 1, 4 proceedures are required;

1) Directory Interface	Discover what log files are available Pass user selectedable log files and store in array
2) Variable Import	Read in the variables names from log files< Use arrays to store the names with a associated index for each - use this index as a way of finding the variable value in logs. Need to consider header of log files - use to display date and connection stats.
3) Read Variables	Use index value from (2) to read in variable value until end of log is reached. Data to be stored as a list inside the array of files.
4) Output Data	For phase 1: tabular data. For phase 2: link tabular data to graphing module.

It was chosen to use Perl as the development language.
